I forget what they are called. You know, they cover your ears in the cold. No, not earmuffs...

There's some ear covers called 180's that are a little bit like ear muffs, work really well, they're not big and bulky.

A lot of hunters, cyclists, runners etc use 'em.

The band that joins both side can be worn on top or behind your head.

Got mine at Bass Pro Shop

T 3... I wonder how those things would work to reduce the effect of wind noise. I can barely hear the engine with all the wind noise at highway speeds.

Haven't tried the 180's on my motorcycle as all I have right now is a full face helmet,on the rare ocassions where I'm without my helmet I'm wearing the HD Skullzzz beanie pictured above and it's great as far as cutting down wind noise,I imagine the 180's would be quite similiar.

Speaking of wind noise,I'm surprised at how many riders I see using disposible foam ear plugs.I tried doing the ear plug thing last Tuesday with my helmet on-worked great at cutting down the noise from turbulance, but I don't like the sensation.Feels like whatever noise and vibration you perceive if comming from inside your body and not the bike.
