i have a '11 fxdb. i like the tail light, but want to move the license plate to a side mount. in ohio its a law that the license plate has to be lit. does this model have a regular light that is not also the tail light?

 

If it has a tail light, it either has LEDs or a clear section under the red tail light lens to illuminate the plate.

If it doesn't have a tail light, bolts that have built-in LED lights can be used to mount the plate to the side mount.

 

It depends on the part #. The kuryakyn mount that I have (side mount vertical) has 8 leds in the side of the mount itself to light the license plate.

Watch your laws, in PA license plates "must be horizontal". However mine isn't, I prefer to be rebellious.

 

They usually list a minimum height also. CA requires the bottom of the plate be no lower than 12 above the ground.

I got the rotoplate from topdown and it is awesome. Very high quality. It is $$$ but worth it

 

yea, a little pricey for me. i just dumped a bunch into exhaust and bars.

 

Bro i just wired at stop light to mine with the kury side mount but i made my own license plate holder cost me 20 bucks all together
