I can tell you this I am through with you and your judgmental ways...Have a nice day.
yes I do, your bike is as run of the mill as they come, and your a phony. And you would rather take credit for other peoples work they create something of your own. The moral part is for you to recognise. Hey maybe you can buy a shelf with your $100 to put your award on.

In the words of my wife "sad, that's just sad. That poor guy must be miserable in his life".

I'm just glad I can be proud of my run of the mill bike but with all of your talent for building bikes you are still so unhappy that you feel the need to bring others down with you. You will be in my prayers tonight.

There's less 1% of the people with bikes out there that have the talent your going on about without all the support CNC machine shops making stuff for them so lighten up a bit on the guy .

Post some pics of your custom stuff to back what your saying it would help .
You say you understand what I'm saying so, you would be ok with a guy who had you customise his bike ,enter it in a show then take full credit for all the work done on it? Somehow I'm not buying that. In essence that's what this other guy did. Back in the day everybody made there own stuff, and if you sold a part to someone they made sure that if a comment was made about it, you gave credit where it was deserved. My stuff is long gone and the few pics I have I can't find. But then again I'm not the one taking credit and money for someone else's product. Do they really give out awards for buying bikes these days?.,,

If you had rebuilt it to the point where it truly was your creation with the paint. or hand made parts, seat or exhaust you could be proud of the recognition. But taking credit for someone else's work is plagiarism. Just like if you were trying to pass off someone's else's thesis paper as your own. Having a bad day has nothing to do with writing this. I would be the first to congratulate you if you actually built the bike, and won the in the show. If you want the real feeling of pride and accomplishment, build the bike then win a show with it.,,
Wow Big Cahuna... You're a piece of work. The prizes go to the owners of the bikes... not the creators. And I think you need to quit posting here and take the time to look up the definition of plagiarism. If someone customizes a bike and the owner of the bike wins a prize... that's not plagiarism Jack Wagon!! Why don't you just quit crying and put your big girl panties back on.

Never Mind

I never said by bike was special or different or valuable, as a matter of fact the opposite. I said my bike wasn't anything special to anybody but me.

First- The way I see it is you donated $20, got a nice parking spot for the day and then got recognition for the work you have done to keep an 11 year old bike looking very nice. I have seen PLENTY of 11 year old bikes that look like they have never seen a bucket of soap much less a coat of wax.

Second- I have seen many bone stock classic cars win at car shows and have never heard anyone tell the owners of those cars that they should not be taking credit for the beauty of those cars because they didn't build them. Thats just asinine!

Bro , your arguing personal principles here and I have the feeling I've been way deeper into this than you have particularly with the show aspect of this debate . I've had bikes in the regional shows back in the 70's & early 80's and I'll tell you now it's a rigged game from the gate . Local guy made good once in a while but the big name guys always got the bucks the rest of us got a cheesy trophy and just the satisfaction doing it and having a good time . Was a time bike show was the party to be at with all the real biker trimmings . Now the there a family thing after church , yawn . Now they are just like going to the dealer , actions about the same .

The Media made the f*cked up flying monkey circus everything is today for the true custom builder . Yes you still see some nice bikes from the individual sometimes with some original concepts and parts done well .The guys who have big money backing everything they produce don't rate in my book either , BUT .

Again the man took his bike to the arena where it was the norm and everyone there was riding or looking at the same style , A deal sponsored event . What went down and the prize he got was appropriate for where it was I don't see a thing he did wrong or should feel bad about every entry there was playing under the same rules so let the guy feel good . Not like somebody blew a judge in a custom show and won like I've seen go down before . Give the man a break .

Brother don't you back of an inch you have no reason too . I'm as radical an old school *** as they come in here and you did no wrong made no claims that weren't fact and that's what it's all about , good for you .
