Austin, TX Dealers
My nephew lives in the Austin, TX area and is interested in buying a Harley. Can anyone recommend a dealer in the area? Thanks in advance.

All within 50mi are B- at best.
Tomorrow the Austin COC&I will meet at Central Texas HD in Round Rock (15mi N. of Austin). 1pm - 5pm. HD has never permitted collective MC meetings at their facilities to my knowledge. HOG chapter is meeting just before this. Its also a large celebration of Armed Forces Day.
It may be a good time to show up and get a good deal.

Check out Jim's Cycle Shop in Axtell, TX.
Good used bikes at good prices.
Not in Austin but still fairly close.

Been to Cowboy HD in Austin a few times. Haven't heard anything bad or good about them. I actually shopped around in several cities in Texas when I bought the Heritage classic. Dealership in El Paso and one in Houston were pricey when I was comparison shopping for a bike. I have shopped some lately and prices vary from dealer to dealer and sometimes at the same dealer within a few weeks. Shop around.

I haven't bought a bike here so I can only comment on what i've seen. But Horny Toad Harley in Temple, TX seems to have better deals. It's only about an hour north of Austin.
Central HD in Round Rock would be my second choice.

I bought my bike from Cowboy HD in Austin, TX. They had a good selection of bikes and my salesman "Chopper Dave" was very helpful and easy to work with. Service after the sale was excellent. I would buy another bike from them.

If he strikes out in Austin, there are three dealers in San Antonio, 90 miles south. Cowboy H-D bought out Alamo H-D a year or so ago; don't know how they deal but Alamo was good to do business with. Caliente H-D on the west side will deal; large inventory and motivated to move bikes. Javelina H-D on the west side will also deal; smaller dealership, smaller inventory but has the rep of working hard for your business.
