Default Riding with a bad back

What do all of you who have bad backs do to help out while you ride?

I bought a new seat (your choice), new bars with more pull back and up 2" (finally realized one day I was leaning forward just enough to bother my back), stop and stretch every 100 or so. Not that I do em but sit-ups or crunches will tighten your abs and give more support to your back. Oh yeah, as mentioned Motrin if I'm really sore when I get home.

+1 on the ibuprofin, and definately a backrest, makes a huge difference. Then don't forget a bunch of cold ones afterwards..

Cool Icy hot

Right before the ride I spread IcyHot gel on my lower back. Makes my back relax and helps. Also if riding solo i use all three foot positions-highway pegs, my floorboards, and will stretch my back by utilizing my rear floorboards. I also stretch my back during my stops. And a nice long hot shower at the end of the day helps. Able to do a 4629 mile solo run last year using these techniques.
