Helmet Painting?

I like many of the custom painted helmets I see on U Tube unfortunately it is illegal to paint your helmet in Canada.

I have found that there is a lot of information on this site on just about any topic, but the small group of people who might have input on any one topic may not be active during that time period, or they may concentrate their activity on specific subforums.
My favorite way to get info here is to search with google like this:
site:hdforums.com paint helmet
You get a lot of threads that are not current, but still get good info.

I did use the SEARCH function on the forums here before posting, but it didn't turn up a lot. I didn't think to go Google, but I just did and only found a small smattering of posts on the topic. I would think custom painted helmets would be a big topic.
I appreciate the comments on the guitar. It was painted by Daneen Bronson (who also does a lot of motorcycle work). Here site: http://www.customairbrush.com/
She does incredible work, as evidenced by what she did for the guitar.

You can't paint your helmet in Canada? Why?

Helmet manufacturers and the law makers feel it compromises the helmet. As well it could hide any damage on a used helmet.
