Default Mild motor build up and gas milage ??

I have just done a mild motor build up on my 1996 Evo FXDWG. I have installed a Andrews EV27 cam, adjustable pushrods, Dynojet kit in the carb, a Screaming Eagle heavy breather, Dyna 2000 dual fire ignition and a Screaming Eagle coil. The question I have is my fuel milage has increased , is that possible ? I thought it would have been the other way around !!! A few more HP and gas milage is a bouns for sure .

I don't really track my mileage, but I can go at least as many miles on a tank as I did before my 95" build that included 26g cams and some mild headwork.

IMO,, its should be normal.. Mine went up 2-4. and made 6th gear usably.

U take a EPA chocked motor and let her breath and increased the efficiency usually 15-20%.

Our stock 96 just labored in 6th, but after stg1 and cams she'll pull 6th easy with 2up at 60mph all day long with plenty of umph to pass without downshifting.

plus best mileage now is 60-65 in 6th where pre engine work it was always 55-60 in 5th for best mileage.
