Last spring I ordered form Dennis kirk two new tires for our 07. There the same HD lops as the dealer has. 402 on the front and 401 on the rear. DK's price $214 to the door in 3days. Rode in to our Indy couple mornings later and that evening I picked her up and paid him $132.
Total $346 for tires, labor, and install.

Dealer wanted $530 for same tires and install.

6 months ago the rear tire for my bike at my indee was $185 total mounted and balanced, everything.

Last week, the same exact tire, all totaled was $272.

I got home and started to look on the 'net and sure enough, prices of tires had gone up drastically. I did find a place that had my tire on sale though for only $140. Unfortunately too late. Next time though, I'm strapping an internet bought tire to the sissy bar and bringing it in. The indee charges $50 to put it on and all, so no matter what, the price is still almost 80 bucks cheaper if I buy the tire myself somewhere.

Thanks, Odumbo!

2 tire irons at harbor freight are 10 bucks. The stealer charges more to remove the back tire cuz the belt is in the way and 3 techicians and the service manager all have to look at it and assist one another by reaching around.

I used to pay big bucks to have tires changed at an indy. I bought a tire changer and do them myself. It's pretty much paid for itself.

Jake Wilson shipped free $144.99 for the WWW 402 rear. I took the wheel to a local metric shop who did the mount, balance and new tube for $28.00.

Vegas dealer quoted $385.00, local dealer $60.00 for mount & balance plus cost of tube and a 3 day wait. Local Indy didn't want to do it all for insurance reasons then changed his mind and said for $100.00.

I have another Jake Wilson Dunlop WWW402 rear sitting in the garage for her scoot waiting for me to take the wheel...........to the metric shop.

Buy online, install yourself and it gets done right. I normally do a major service and install new tires each year before heading to Sturgis. The amount saved compared to what I read about others paying is enough to fund a big part of my trip.

I paid $113 including tax for my 90/90x21 Dunlop at the dealer. They installed and balanced it free because I bought the tire there.
I would have had to pay $2.50 if it needed wheel weighs. It didn't.
I took the wheel in, they didn't pull and remount it.
