Thumbs up Dads 80th birthday ride

My dad turned 80 the other day and I made him go for a ride on my FLHT. He has not been on a bike since he was 14 in NYC. His buddy had an Indian that they rode through the city. He was nervous but after the ride he was glad he did it. A bunch of his neighbors were out when we returned. He said it was the highlight of his birthday.

I hope your saying you gave him a ride and not you had him ride your bike.

Excuse me, I missed the "when we returned"

Would love to see some pics if you took any. I wish I could have taken my Ole Man for a last ride before he died. He helped me to get my 1st Harley when I wasn't even old enough to have a drivers license yet. Every time I would go to see him the first thing he wanted to do was go outside and see what I had added to or taken off the bike.

My dad passed away a few years ago. I have his ashes in an urn on top of the TV. Father's Day (June 19, 2011) would be his 85th birthday. I think I'll take him for a ride that day.

You just have me an idea. My Ole Mans B-Day is in 5 days, not enough time to get his ashes from my sister but........I'm gonna have her send them to me and I'm taking him with me on the Hoka Hey. We aren't suppose to have any passengers but I think they will let this one slide.

I think he will really enjoy it. Might even take him out for a few drinks before the run starts.

Thanks for postin that.

EDIT.....The two pics below are of myself on my first street legal bike with him sittin on the back, and me on My first Harley and him sitting on the Suzuki he bought from me which gave me enough money to get the Harley.

Take your old man for the ride of his life! I know he will appreciate it. I know my old man will appreciate his ride too.

Glad I did not wait. Hopefully will take him again in 10 years for his 90th! I tried to download a pic, but it is 17mb and too big. I did make it my avatar though.
