My wife told me that if I got a bike, she'd leave me. A lady I worked with told me that I deserved a toy and that if I wanted a bike, I should buy one. I baught a harley. the wife did not leave me, but she was not happy. The lady at work loved to ride with me. She took the rider's Edge course, got a license, and got her own Harley. I purchased a second Harley. The wife finally left me. Now I am married to the lady I used to work with. Life is good. Ultimatums suck. New wife loves to ride, encourages me to buy stuff for all the bikes, and is looking forward to our getting another Harley or two. We need a bigger garage, and as soon as she retires, we plan on moving to Tennessee and will buy a property big enough for a 5 or 6 bike garage.

Hate to say it but I've found replacement women far easier to come by than a good bike you really like . When one plays the old " toys or me " game your either in over head with finances anyway or she's a control freak , most of the time the later .

A long, long time ago I planned my monthly budget on 40 hours a weekly paycheck. Anything above and beyond that is mine (overtime, shift differential, bonus, etc.) It's worked out well. Oh, she gets the 40 hours check to manage as she will. I have a garage full of Harleys.

Good plan , I went with one bike in the garage I really like and a fat bank account instead .

I picked my o'lady hick hikeing in 1973 on my bike. When we moved in where we are, the neighbors with a vtx had to come over and see the Harley. I told the guy with the vtx with the money he spent on it he could have got a good used Harley, his wife said she would'nt let him, my wife snaped back, I'd kicked his *** if he'd got any thing else
