Same experiences...what way do these things go on? (heehee)
Tried to cut windshield down..lower I got, the worst the buffeting.
Now have MS 19 inc. Rio Grand. Put harley for wind deflectors back on..they helped but left space between shield and deflector so I think I will try Memph. Shade deflectors.

 

I don't understand the problem installing the HD wind deflectors. I looked at the pics, read the instructions, and installed the damn things!

It ain't that hard to do!!!!!!

Actually have tried mutiple fixes. Fangs helped and even a bag behind windshield helped as well, but I think its not so much comming from below as to above windshied. When I croch down a bit its as smooth as silk.
When I first got the HD I cut the shield down to just below eye level. (wished I would have rode it more with the taller shield to compare.
My question is as I read these posts I hope a differend shield that pushes the air over my head is the way to go... member answer: (2. Getting yourself into a wind free pocket. This is can be done by getting a windshield tall enough to throw it over you. BUT, a better solution is a windshield designed to push the turbulent air over you - so you can still look over it properly.)
Any suggestions on windshield vendor that offers solutions. I have heard of recurve but not sure who and where to look into.
Appreceiate the advice..this buffetting is crazy annoying!

Bummer that you cut the windshield down before you tried the lowers. There are several windshield replacements available for around $100 or less. Or watch the classifieds and you might find somebody selling one they're not using.

 

What I am hoping for is a windsheild that could still be just below eye level and maybe shaped or angled to still push the air above my helmet.
Guess I just want everything huh?

 

I don't have a windshield, but some of the guys I ride with do. They say they prefer the wind to hit them in the upper chest. I don't know, but changing the angle of it should be a way to adjust were it hits you.

A good attempt, if you havent tried it, is to start with one of our Cee Bailey's taller shields, and if that doesn't help, you can send it back to us and we'll cut it down to what you think will work well for you. The adjustment is no charge!

Lowers are the way to go. If you don't like the looks, or whatever, I've also heard that something like a small tool bag mounted on the forks makes a world of difference also.
