I have only done this with the Heritage and never with the lighter Wideglide---go figure.I went to lean the bike left on the jiffy stand and ol jiffy popped back up also. I don't know if I moved the bike forward or if I hit it with my heel. All I know is that the bike was committed to going on the jiffy stand and my foot was way forward. With no kick stand down now. I ended up catching the bike before it touched but it almost busted my guts to lift it straight from that angle. Never understood why HD calls it a jiffy stand.

Almost, damn near, just about came real real close to dumpin mine once - another nano meter and it'd been down. Don't even know how I saved it but I hope that was gonna be my one time and I somehow cheated destiny.

I've finally figured out why they call it a "jiffy" stand.
Screw it up just one time, and your down in a Jiffy!!

My foot/toe remains pressed against the back of the stand pushing forward on it as the bike comes down onto the stand just to me sure..

Yup! I did that too. My first Road trip in front of 20 other riders. Found out real quick what engine guards are for.

Another very good reason to dismount on the left (traditional) side.

I sure don't like to hear about someone dropping their ride but it's a good reminder for me to remember to check the jiffy stand twice before I dismount! Thanks for another reminder!

Hows that? If your getting off the bike on the left side and you have a leg in the air, and the bike starts going down, how do you plan on holding it up?

Is there some reason that you dismount from the right side?
