I would have stopped and asked, because maybe he was responding to his friend's text that said "Sorry, I'm tied up, can come help now"... and maybe the bike was running but wouldn't move because he broke a clutch cable or something.... anyway ... I would have stopped and asked.

Girlfriend and I were riding last week. I stopped last week for a man and his wife on the side of the road on their HD's. She was out of gas and he was in the process of switching her bike to reserve. If she had been completely out of gas I would have went and got them gas. Or myself and my girlfriend would have waited with her while he got gas. I stop or at least slow down to a crawl and gesture to see if they need help. I was out in the boat yesterday and two boats were stopped just drifting. I slowed down and gestured if they need help. They didn't---it was a social moment. I know that there are crazies out there but I refuse to live in fear-----------plus I always carry something.

We stop atleast to check on bikes and cars alike. Most people have phones and someone on the way. I enjoy offering help the pay it forward thought I guess . The physco angle has to be thought about but not the controlling factor. Be helpful and be careful too.

My aunt/uncle were murdered by a hitchhiker couple along Rte 66 in the late 60s. Sorry, no hitchhikers for me
