Default Armor for New Jacket

Hey everybody, just got in my HD Backstretch Mesh jacket today out of the new Spring line. Unfortunately, it didn't come with any armor and it looks like loading the jacket up with armor will cost almost as much as the jacket itself. I've heard that some jackets can be uncomfortable with the armor in. Anybody have experience with this jacket? I've always ridden with armor, but if everybody agrees that the HD jackets are really uncomfortable with armor, I'll probably save myself $100.

armor should't be uncomfortable if it fits you right.

it's all relative though. I know mine is there, but it doesn't bother me

It's a lot more comfortable than having my elbow in a cast for 8 weeks....

You can buy universal CE approved Elbow and Shoulder Armor for very reasonable prices. I have a Fox Creek Leather jacket and the Joe Rocket Armor fits it perfectly and cost penny's on the dollar for the "Special" armor that was available for the jacket when I bought it. When I have the jacket on, I don't notice it at all. But if I go agricultural or asphalt racing, I'm pretty sure that I'll be glad it's there.

If it has the pockets built in already, grab your self some Knox armor. Light, not bulky, and works well.

The armor on my jackets does not bother me. The armor will cost you another $50. That beats a several thousand dollar ER bill.

All solid points. I will look into the cheaper (in price) armor and go that route.
