If you were making a Harley commercial...

Perfect music for the commercial, if you could get it.
I'd love to see a commercial done in the old spirit of things, where Harleys and their riders were the good guys. Big smiles, some retro action, older bikes as well as new, and some of the younger generation of bikers and bikes getting in the picture.
Just a quick point. Back in the 50s, a lot of people were making music from back the 10s. Most people who hear stuff from that era don't realize that much of it was first recorded way earlier than that.
Sort of like, coming full circle.

Start with various (CU) shots of a cowboy; putting on boots, the chaps,
the duster, the hat, the gloves. Then (MS) swinging a leg over the horse, then (WS) cut to a shot of them galloping through a field (dollying along with the rider) morphing into a guy on a Harley full leathers cruising down the road. Use music throughout and voice over at the end. Maybe something like "Every little boy dreamed of being a cowboy...Live the Dream!" Do a 60 and a cut down 30. Production credit is always appreciated

I was also thinking that one that plays out the Bob Seger song "Roll Me Away" would have a broad appeal. That would also hit the OP's "open spaces/road" idea.
Took a look down a westbound road,
Right away I made my choice
Headed out to my big two-wheeler,
I was tired of my own voice
Took a bead on the northern plains
And just rolled that power on
Twelve hours out of mackinaw city
Stopped in a bar to have a brew
Met a girl and we had a few drinks
And I told her what I'd decided to do
She looked out the window a long long moment
Then she looked into my eyes
She didn't have to say a thing,
I knew what she was thinkin'
Roll, roll me away,
Won't you roll me away tonight
I too am lost, I feel double-crossed
And I'm sick of what's wrong and what's right
We never even said a word,
We just walked out and got on that bike
And we rolled
And we rolled clean out of sight
Maybe substitute a female hitchiker for the girl in the bar and throw in a nod to Easy Rider by having the guy get on his bike, start it up, then take his watch off and throw it in the ditch at the beginning. Could be updated by throwing away his cell phone.
Hey, this advertising stuff is fun.

Maybe another retro song, from the King himself, who also was a rider.

Ok, scene opens with a bunch of model type guys guys in front of a bar on sport bikes and a load of good looking gals hanging around. Fat ugly dude rides up on a Harley. All the women flock to him.
Text fades in: Harley Riders Get Laid More
Would sell the heck out of bikes.

well I have to agree with brenn,
this is a wonderful commercial!
good idea, but I think that someone used yet a similar idea, I mean the Highwaymen's music video for "Silver Stallion"
Here's a good Harley commercial: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=aqS2gjonP_E

Because you really want to appeal to that minority of minivan driving Harley owners who don't want anything to do with the lifestyle? Good idea.
I'd say lifestyle is a bigger selling point to newb than "motorcycle." Even Honda can make you a motorcycle.
If you want to draw in new Harley buyers, appeal to the tough guy wannabe, throw in some sex and humor. If possible, show a motorcycle at some point.
Here's a good Harley commercial: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=aqS2gjonP_E
An even better Harley commercial: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nKqW5...eature=related
Watch this, from 0:36 to 3:00 (leaving the girl and riding away) - substitute a stock Harley for the custom and you've got the greatest Harley commercial ever. Too bad the rest of that movie sucked.

Think you should show all the different reason's people ride. a few guys on bobbers or choppers stopping at a bar. a few guys on softails all chromed out with apes hitting a bike show. a father and son touring 2up with their significant others seeing some parts of the country. and even some full customed bikes in shows. then something about harleys being versitile and able to meet the needs of all riders. we all ride for deiffernt reason's. this would appeal to a broader portion of the public.
