Default heated Grips

I am almost convinced that heated grips will be a good idea on my softail. My hands freeze in cold and I dont like extra heavy gloves. Please give me the good and bad side of heated grips.

From my experience, the palms of my hand don't get cold, it's the back of the hands and fingers. My advice is to take the money you would have spent on grips and buy a pair of G3 Gerbing heated gloves, and control them with a switch (ordered from Gerbing separately). Works really good for me. I can ride in the 30s without cold hands.
