An oil filter at the dealer is what, 10 -15 bucks. Not worth the chance of having issues. Your mileage and engine life may vary.

This was asked in the "Evo" section.About the best reason anybody came up with against using one was "not worth the money" and "too much trouble cleaning".I posed the same question on another HD forum and came up with the same responses.Mind you they are all from people who never tried one.I have one,a different brand, but I think they are all the same.I decided to go with it after a dealer tried to sell me a 5 micron filter for my Evo engine, saying "nobody stocks the old 30 micron anymore, the new one is fine".Well its not.The 5 micron is for the newer TC engines and will cause oil pressure problems in the Evo's.I got one that is the correct micron rating for my bike and my oil pressure is fine and cleaning it is not all that time consuming.Granted I know I'll never re-coup the $$$ it cost, but I like it,it works and I will never have waste a trip to the dealer to get a filter that may not be right for my bike.If you can get past the cost and extra time to clean it,then I say go for it.
