Default It's Getting Scary...

So, on my way to work today I noticed something... I was getting to 50 a lot faster, I was running yellows (nothing dangerous), I wasn't slowing down as much before a curve... I was more confident and it scared me a little, lol.

I'm getting a lot more comfortable on my bike and it feels good. I'm still keeping an eye out for the "soccer mom on a cell phone" but enjoying the ride a heck of a lot more.

I'm done wasting your time now, just thought I'd share.

Its a lot better when you can stop worrying about hurting yourself and start worrying more about the others trying to kill you. Be safe and congrats.

Oh I hear you...I was noticing the same thing today on the way to work. Sharing lanes at 75, head on a swivel, running her up to 95.

But mine was more because I was running way late for work. When I can take my time, I enjoy the ride and never rush. Which is when I'm more scared because when I'm not riding like the devil himself is chasing me I tend to be far less aware and intune with what's going on around me.

I have to admit, It's a nice feeling to have. I had been off scoots for a number of years, save for a yamaha zuma for the kids sake. It's nice to be riding again. I took my time regaining the skill level once had, and rode most all the time. It's hard to acquire and maintain that feeling unless you do ride all the time. It's the use it or loose it theory. It's a great feeling not to get in the way of said cell phoning soccer moms! Lol

It's fun when you outgrow the stage of expecting something bad to happen any second, but once you reach that comfort level... make yourself ride as if something bad is going to happen at any second. Relax and have fun, but keep your eyes open and your brake covered.

Gotta watch the tweens. Noobs are too scared to do anything stupid on purpose. Most old timers already have, and know the consequences. It's the tweens that'll really get ya.

That first 6 months, that's the real deal. You find yourself pushing the envelope, you know you gotta be careful. Because the only warning you get when you're outside it is nothing. You go from vertical to flat real fast.

Ride like you're allergic to cars. Stay as far away from them as possible.

If you are really concerned about safety, wearing a black jacket and helmet is not the best of ideas....

Being confident in your own skill level is a good place to be. Just never forget that the cagers are trying to kill you
