Wifey rides pillion quite a bit. But she wanted no part of a ride to Sturgis from VA in 09.
Instead, she went with her family to the beach for a week. Greatest vacations we've had...

Just check in (text message works great) every couple of hours and call when you're parked for the night.

I've been doing road trips so long that my wife worries when I don't travel.

Not much you can do for your wife but communicate while you're away. After you complete the first trip your wife should feel safer about you traveling in the future.

Mine doesn't. She's born 'n raised on them, loves to ride with me, but lets me do my solo runs or rides with buds.

I respect her wish for me never to have another woman on the back seat...
And while out riding, now and then when I pull over for a rest or to gas up or whatever, I'll send her a text letting her know I'm still upright.

She enjoys her time at home without me, and I enjoy my solo rides to deflate and rejuvenate myself....she knows I usually come back with a smile.

I've been married for 27 years. Going to Laughlin with "the boys" this weekend. First time I've gone with "the boys" for a few days without her. She's concerned, but it was her idea to go. I'll just check in often to ease her mind.

This is a control issue hiding behind an irrational fear. Get a new wife. Probably time to trade up anyway. They don't last forever and maintenance cost goes out the roof if you keep them too long. Plus their trade in value drops faster then their hog jowls. Don't have a wife. Still deal with girlfriend issues every once in awhile. I would not put up with that crap so it will not become an issue ever. No shortage of women. There is always greener grass next door till you are next door. Life is too short to take crap off anybody must less someone that supposedly cares.

I love the fact that everytime someone starts a post about wife issues on here someone always jumps in with "get rid of her"

If the worst of your worries in your marriage is a wife who worries too much about your well being, then I would say you've got it pretty good. You're still going on the trip, so I'm assuming either she hasn't told you you can't go, or that she has and you're going anyway. So either way she isn't controlling you.

Yeah, my old lady freaks out when I do a solo road trip. But only because she wants to go too. However, she takes road trips with the girls to the casinos quite often so it comes out even.

I'm sure you gotta beat the girls off with a mug like that

Just kidding...I think any spouse worries, but the reaction from the OP's spouse seems to have other issues. Hope it all works out for him!
