I'm going to be an anomaly here, I got my MC license first because I had a bike first. Later when I bought a car (A nice 1957 small block Chevy, that I set-up.), I used teen logic when I saw that my car permit stated that I needed a licensed driver with me to drive with the permit “Hmmmm, I have a license, I’m good to go.”
Drove that way for years, (I worked and went to school, no time, and young and stupid.) and only got my license when a friends dad said “I’ll let you boys use my new Oldsmobile to take your dates to the prom, if one of you will take the time to get your license.”
Signed up for the road test the next day, and took the test the next week.
Our Girls thought we were hot stuff in that Olds for the evening.

That is exactly why I finally got my endorsement... you don't have to have a license to insure it... they can't deny a claim if you don't

Rode for several years without one - also drove cars for several years, from about age 14, without a license. Never got a license for either until I decided to buy one from a dealer.
The first thing I ever had a license to drive in my life was an M110-A2 self-propelled howitzer.

I have been licensed since I learned to ride... the ONLY time it came in handy so far was when I started searching for an HD... the first guy I visited had a Superglide. I had no intentions of asking for a test-ride, but the guy told me if I had an "M" on my license, he'd allow me to give it a spin. From that day on I've cherished that "M"... Glad I got the Street Bob instead.

Getting my motorcycle endorsement was one of the best days of my life, (back in 69).
The road test was a joke, there were about 10 of us, and the guy just told us to ride around the block and come back, if you could do that, you got your license! LOL

Rode for about a year without the endorsement. When I took the road course, I took it on my bike and not the scooter everyone else was taking it on. If you can't pass it on your bike, you shouldn't own it.
