Sh*t man, I wouldnt even do that trip on my RK in that timeframe.

I did something similar except Michigan to Cali and back and it was on an Older CB900. Am I glad I did it? Yeah. Would I do it again today? NO.

There were times riding on the expressway that I literally contemplated just hurling myself and the bike into the ditch.

The worst was the trip back across Kansas with 60mph winds, it was f*cking 105 degrees and I had to belly ride the tank to avoid the wind shear. I swore that day I would NEVER go back to Kansas. And I never have!!

Damn. Can it be done? Hell yes! Will it suck? Hell yes! Just not enough time to do ANYTHING but ride. Do you wanna pull into your sister's driveway, Say "Hi" followed by, "Gotta run"? If yes, then do it. You'll spend about $600 in fuel. You'll need to do one oil change too. Seriously, for not a hell of a lot more, the west coast rental option sounds a lot better.

Brother, that is a loooong trip in a short time....I agree with the fly and rent. I would love to do that trip myself, but there's no way I would try it in that amount of time, and let me say that I have a comfortable bike and like long trips more than anyone I know.

Fly to Seattle, rent a bike, and spend the two weeks going down and up the West Coast.

You going to do round trip in two weeks?? One way should be about 3000 miles to Seattle. Seattle to LA is another thousand. Two weeks for both one way is doable. Round trip in two weeks would be a disaster IMO.
