My 07 makes the same noises too. Kinda unnerving but so far no problems. Took it to a dealer and mechcanic rode it and said it was fine. He wanted to make sure it was not the mainshaft bearing. Still don't like the sound.

My '09 FXD makes the noise as well and has been doing so for the life of the bike (25k). No issues thus far but my warranty expires this month so I'm sure something will bust shortly thereafter.

Funny I just noticed mine doing this too... the '10 Limited that is. Never really paid all that much attention to it until I finished building it to a 107". Now every little sound gets scrutinized by me. It probably always did this and I never noticed.

Now the '94 Evo is another story all together. As others have mentioned that thing makes all kinds of whirring, clacking and other mechanical noises and I never gave it a second thought.

I think they re-designed the primary chain adjuster to be self adjusting around 06. So if the sound is the adjuster tension on the chain as indicated by seniorsuperglide08 earlier, only the 06 and newer bikes will make the noise.

Mine started doing that after I put in an auto adjuster.
