Default New 96"...like it or dislike it?

Just wanting to hear from some people who have some experience with the new 07 motors. Do you like them better than your 88" or do you wish you would have stayed with the 88"? How is the power from the 96 compared to the 88....

My '07 EG Standard pulls great. Much better than my 88" Wideglide and I pull off and leave my buddies when we are screwing around. At first I didn't think the power difference was there but like I said when playing around I can walk all over my friends who have the stage one 88" softails and my bike is heavier.

Like it. Just a stroked 88 and the torque is better. What's not to like?

According to reports the new motor is very slightly better then the 88 but has alot more potential for upgraded power. So my thought was do a 95 kit and go from there but it appears that the new motor still has more potential, but its ok the 6 speed tranny issues make up for the improved motor, lol. Im still disgruntled I bought my bike less then 3 months before the upgraded engines came out and I knew nothing about it.

The 96 is much better if you are comparing it to a stock 88. I did Thuderheader, Ignition, cams and air cleaner to make my 88 acceptable. the 96 is about even with the way the 88 is now, but it has so much potential! Sure hope the aftermarket comes up with some good reliable 103 or better systems. I beleive the aftermarket tuners will get a lot more out of the motors than HD will ever offer.

Ever read how many tuners state the knock #s recorded on a stock 07?The aftermarket will make a killing on upgrades or HD will have trouble down the road.

Despite the small difference on paper, its a big improvement over any of the 88s I owned. Running through the mountains there is no comparison.
