Default RE: dropping and crashing

I went down last summer in a sharp left hand turn. I was in behind another rider so I was further to the outside than I usually am in a turn. Right in the middle of the turn my front tire did a violent jerk (I am thinking I hit a rock). The front tire went out from under me and i dove for the road as the bike slid into the guard rail. A good baseball slideput some road rash on my forearms and one knee. It I hadn't bailed I surely would have broked something hitting the guard rail at 30 mph. Tacoed the front rim and the forks, all the other stuff was pretty cosmetic.

I STILL WANT TO KNOW WHY EVERY USED BIKE AD SAYS "NEVER BEEN DORPPED"! Listening to you guys, that would be impossible!
Probably because a lot of people buy the bike but they don't ride it. Less chance of dropping the bike that way.

In aviation, we always say the pilot that hasn't landed gear up will, those that have will again. [8D]
YOU might say that, but the pros in aviation certainly don't believe that.

I prefer crashing (3) to dropping (1 after being overserved at the local pub) because you get way more sympathy from the opposite sex as they are putting you in the ambulance..then after you wake up you are surrounded by hot nurses who are used to changing bed pans for 87 year old guys and there is this hurt young stud guy in a bed on their floor.....[8D]I figure you have to look at the bright side.......

I've flown as a passenger for our company > 2000 times in the last 7 years. Our pilots haven't seemed to have that problem either. Thanks goodness, talk about delays. pretty sure that would create a delay.

One thing is for sure... you get what you focus on! Focus on safe riding... awareness... happiness

When you focus on fear... insecurity... lack of safety, that is what will come about.

This is exactly why I hate seeing videos of other motorcyclists crashing... just one more way to focus on what you don't want.

I've crashed so many times in the dirt that I think I used up all my crashes. Harleys don't belong on the ground.

S**t happens ...deal with it. If you get on your scoot worried about crashing you will....I'll give you the same advice I give anybody on 2 wheels....Ride Safe....after that it's all up to what ever higher power you do or don't believe in....
