That's been the way it's done since they invented chrome. Just don't deal with em if you can't strike a compromise. They'll come around.

Never trade at the stealership. Sell privately and then negotiate like crazy with a stack of cash in his face.

When i traded in my last bike, for the one I currently own, My dealer was honest enough to tell me to go home, remove everything that I could from the old bike, as the mods really didn't effect the trade in value. This was AFTER giving me the trade in value. I was able to re-use or sell everything I removed, most of it sold on this forum, so I ended up with a fair deal, and some extra cash for mods on the new ride. Its nice to deal with someone honest enough to be truthful in a deal.

Do what I did.....take every stinkin addon off your bike and sell them. Dealer I got my present bike out wouldnt deal a nickle so I thought, screw him and took it all off and just wanted him to say something about it. Actually, my usual dealer will take goodies off a trade in. Cause he wants the next owner to buy all the stuff again from him.

Same here in Norway. Seems like the best bike for second hand value is the cvo line
