Have you ever ridden in the rain?

RE: Have you ever ridden in the rain?
I try not to but I have been caught in rain many times. I always carry my rainsuit and if it is iffy out I still go out. I have left the house in my rainsuit many times when I have to be somewhere on the bike. The worst was crossing the Mackanaw bridge in a nasty thunderstorm with high winds. It is just something that you need to be able to do and practice makes you better.

Had funny experience in the rain once. The wife and I were each on our own bikes and went for a long ride one Sunday morning. On the way back we got caught in the rain, she was wearing a white long sleeve t-shirt and we ended up on a street that has abouot 10 churches on it just as church was getting out, it was stop and go traffic. Thought some of the people were gonna wreck looking at her in her transparent t-shirt....

This past Friday the 13th I rode in snow, sleet and pouring rain.
Not a lot of fun but the past month in Ontario if you only went out on a nice day you wouldn't be going.

I did a HOG event ride last year that was up around the MT Hood area. We ran into a hard rain, hail and 40 degree weather. The gals had the heat packs out and were turing back in droves. Managed to finish the ride and as we came down out of the MTs the weather was warm and the sun was shining. Great experience.
I had a full face helmet, rain gear, waterproof boots and gloves and a full windshield so I came out ok. In the NW you have to carry extra gear and always be ready for rain and a 20 degree drop in temp.

I HATE riding in the rain. It hurts when it pelts you on the face, forehead, or hands and it feels like riding with nails being driven into you. My riding glasses would always fog up so I couldn't see worth s#%t. And living in NW Ohio itis always acold, shivering wet ride. The best is when I get home and dump the water out of my boots. Last heavy rain Irode to a friends house and couldn't take it anymore. My googles were fogged up completely so I had to angle them up. But then the rain would pelt my eyes so I couldn't see. Ended up having my buddy run me home and grabbedmy trailer. Way too dangerous for me.
Of courseI don't wear a helmet and I don't carry rain gear. I think I may just leave a set of rain gear at work this summer.
