Have you ever ridden in the rain?

RE: Have you ever ridden in the rain?
My first real ride on my 05 Electra Glide was in the rain, at 11pm on top of that! Never fun! I remember doing a ride up to Flagstaff and we got hit with a Thunderstorm when I had my Lowrider, I was quite miserably drenched!
I will personally avoid riding in the rain if I can (like to work for example), just because the traffic here is bad enough (and drivers are bad enough!), no need to exponentionally increase my odds of getting hit! On a road trip, if it happens it happens! Not much you can do, just be more careful and pay even more attention (if that's even possible!)

RE: Have you ever ridden in the rain?
Drove to Lake George, New York for Americade 2006. Starting point was Charlotte, North Carolina. 25 hour trip (including the hotel stay at Roanoke, VA). I departed NC at around 10:30pm. It was clear skies till around 12:00am. It started raining heavily. By the time I reached Roanoke, I've had enough. Stayed at a hotel there and woke up the next morning to more rain. Looked at the weather channel and seen that it wasnt going to let up any so.. I continued on the journey. It rained ALL the way to NY. In fact.. It rained almost the entire week of the Americade. Anybody that went there this year knows what I'm talking about. It sucked. Thank God for the stock height windshield. lol..
Oh.. btw, my wife was with me. It was her first hardcore ride. She actauly enjoyed it. It made the trip that much more adventerous for her, so she claims.

RE: Have you ever ridden in the rain?
I got my first rain ride in my MSF course. Torrential downpour the whole second day (just when the excercises started to be challenging naturally).
It wasn't so bad until the braking exercises. The little tinker-toy bikes stopped a whole lot quicker than the old Yamaha I was used to & I kept locking up the front wheel. NOT fun. The instructors weren't thrilled with me either (but one did tell me I was the only person he'd seen in the course that locked the front wheel and didn't dump the bike, so I guess that's something). Put me off the idea of riding in the rain pretty effectively, but I'm sure I'll get more experience at it whether I like it or not.

You must be kidding.
Wait, maybe someone living in a desert has never riden in the rain.
Around New Orleans though, it rains more days than not.
