I don't get Choppers

Factory we worked at made cheapo BBQ grills. The little round ones.

can't wait to get my little chop going again... thinking of shoving the motor into a different frame. Really short, stock rake with shaved Norton forks and a spoolie. It should be dangerous enough to scare the **** out of me ....I've had front brakes for the last 20 or so years.

Had an index finger put back on at the second knuckle , doc did a damn fine job too almost can't tell to look at just a bigger joint than the other . Ended my long distance shooting days , trigger sense went to hell .

Who did you say was being snobbish?

I knew a dude who lost few fingers to a punch press. Docs somehow reconstructed his thumb, middle finger and a pinky that wasn't hurt at all.
So he ended up with 3 fingers like a friggin alien...and that was his nickname "the Alien". He rode an early 70's cop bike with foot clutch and tank shift.

I'll probably get beat up for this, but I have tough skin..
I really don't get the whole chopper thing. I get Bobbers. I get customization and mods. I get restoring old bikes. I love motorcycles.
Choppers? It's taking a bike and reshaping it into a visually appealing (questionable) piece of art, that isn't nearly as functional as it was before. I just saw one at my local convenience store and it was a super stretched, super chromed thing like you see on the show, and it was all the guy could do to get it turned into the gas pumps and park it. I don't mean a tasteful rake like on the Wide Glide either.
I can see stretching the frame on a drag bike, but beyond that I don't understand why someone would bother. Can someone help me out?
