Default 14" or 16" Apes

I have Wild 1 515's(10") on my Road King Classic. I sat on a 2011 Road King Police Bike at the dealer today and it had 16" bars...I loved the height, and you sit lower to the ground than a Road King Classic...now do I get 14" or 16" apes? I'm 5'11" today. I'll have to get longer cables no matter what. I know a ton of you love your 16's, but do any of you get tired arms? Wish you had shorter bars?

i have 16" carlini's with very little pullback and I'm only 5' 9". Theyre pretty comfortable even for longer rides. I think you'll be ok goin with 16's.

I'm 5'11 and I have 16s.

No my arms don't get tired, they are a great height for me. Right at shoulder level.

When sizing apes figure out what you want, then add 2".

If you build it for 16's and change your mind, it will be cheaper and easier to go to 14's because everything will fit.

If you build for 14's and change your mind, finding the extra 2" in all the cables and wires might be an issue.

Ok,.looks like I'll cough up the coin and get me the Wild 1 572. I turn wrenches, how hard is it to switch out to longer brake and clutch cables,,,,,,I spent 11 hours extending the wires when I put on 10" mini apes

I would go with 16''s. I had 16s on my old bike. It wasnt a RK but still 16s and Im only 5'8''. No issues.

Now on my SG Ill probably go with 12-13s. Only because I think 16s or bigger on a bagger just starts to look a little goofy.

I have 14" Trask Bro Bars on my RK. I'm 5'7" and they are perfect for me. My hands are even with my shoulders.

I don't know about 16" bars but my 14” are comfortable. I can ride all day without my arms getting tired, unlike the stock bars. The stock seat on my 2011 RG is a little lower than older bikes plus I also have lowering blocks. Between the two the bars feel like 16” bars.
