Default Another one bites the dust.,

Just got the word our dealer "Highroads Harley Davidson" of Highland Pk, New jersey is no more. Their website says due to economic conditions , they will be consolidating the dealership with their other dealership Liberty Harley Davidson, effective yesterday. This dealership has had a hard time of it. It used to be Edison Harley, and was sold 2 years ago and the name was changed to Highroads. Hopefully the staff will be transferred also. They are a good bunch of people and it would be a shame if they were all let go.,,

1/2 the guys on here should be celebrating over it. Those that constantly refer to the dealers as "stealers". Those that complain about the service the dealers provide, the poor salesmen, price gouging, the techs that work for them, and everything else they moan about. Those guys should be throwing a party. Me, I hate to see another one bite the dust.

The MoCo is also responsible, as they have stated they wanted to reduce the dealer network.

I hate to see a dealer close. Less dealers means less options for us as customers.

I wonder if the MoCo forced some of these dealers to make capital improvements in their facilities, offer more programs, buy more inventory etc, pushing them underwater in the process. It wouldn't suprise me one bit. Then, they drop them when the economy slows down and they are stressed financially.
