Well, this motorcycle thing didn't work out too well - Update

It's funny that this thread resurfaced. I believe there was another recent thread with people advocating that the Road King was an excellent first bike the learn on. :-\

Right on. My girl got her motorcycle licence this summer so I let her cut her teeth on my v-star. Big mistake. Its heavy and bulky, hard to turn etc. So mentally the bike already had her beat. So I bought her a 450 nighthawk. Well it boosted her confidence and brought her over the hump. Now she has no problem with the v-star. A bit of practice and confidence and BOOM. Glad you kept it and didnt give up

First Bikes are made for dropping Which if you are smart, is not a bike that you own! Best to learn on something like a Honda 250 rebel. That's was the first bike I ever rode, taking a weekend class and got my M license after only two days of experience. We were all dropping those bikes all weekend long in that class. The one guy's girlfriend even went off the parking lot and into a nice big bush (felt bad for her, she didn't pass). Nice thing is that you can pick those bikes up up very easily.

Congrats all of the way around. Be safe out there in cooler weather, allow more room for a slower reaction time.
