Dropped My Bike Last Night
#21
Don't feel bad - I did it twice in four hours, 100 miles apart. In public places. Not my best day.
Different scoot than I have now though, which is good.
Glad your bike's OK and I hope everything works out for you. Best wishes.

Glad your ok. Look at the positive, your out of the Hospital, you got enough strength to ride, you will get back on it. Been their myself. Hospital, Chemo, and dropping my bike. Forget about it, put it behind you and live for today. No promise what tomorrow will bring.

Dropped Bike...Welcome to the Club
You're not an official Biker till you've dropped your bike (IMHO), although I certainly don't recommend it. I am the unofficial President of the "I thought my kickstand was down" Club. And not once, but twice! Fortunately, once was at the gas pump, so the grip hit the pump just right so she didn't go down all the way (there's a joke in there somewhere); the second time was in the garage, so a stack of boxes kept her from hitting the deck.
The only other time I dropped a bike was my old 2005 Yamaha Royal Star Tour-Deluxe, which was a top-heavy beast that just wanted to fall over, especially at parking lot speeds. Was coasting to a stop, thought the coast was clear and started to go then saw a car come out of nowhere and hit the front brake. I was doing a sommersalt on the pavement before I knew what the hell happened, about $700 poorer. I now come to a complete stop before taking off, and have trained myself to rely less on the front brake (a little easier/safer now with ABS).
Ride safe, Bob

Thanks guys. I have dropped other bikes over the years, but this was the first time with this one. Minor scratches, but I cannot see them when I ride. Did order the touch up paint so that will help. I have forgiven myself, and am looking forward to the next time that I do NOT drop it, but I am sure that I will at some time. Just took a little hit to my ego.
