Contacting my bike's previous owner good idea or not?

RE: Contacting my bike's previous owner good idea or not?
If you're at all nervous about them getting upset, tell them that you saw the bike at the dealership and ask your questions as a potential buyer, not the new owner. A guy I know bought an 11-year old Honda Civic ealier this year that had over 165,000 miles on it. He found an old receipt for one of the preivous owners in the glovebox and called the woman. She was so happy someone was buying her old car, used it as a daily commuter for the first 140,000+ miles and provided him with a wealth of information on the work done, maintenance, etc.
You don't know them, call them up, worst that could happen is you get a hang up, nothing for you to lose but the cost of the call.
Just be sure to *67 the call so they can't trace you back.

Yeah and what if this was true and then she says that she hasn't had sex since her husband passed and is really horny and just wants to stop over and see the bike one more time........then when she get's there she looks kinda hot and is all dressed up in her riding outfit and begs you to take her for a ride...so you agree and then she is on the back of the bike and the vibration is driving her crazy and then she __________________________________________________ _________ (fill in blank) and you can't believe it. Or not.

yeah, but then maybe the guy died and the wife sold the bike cause she doesn't ride. She ends up cryin on the phone at ya and ya have to listen to it instead of being a jerk and hangin up on her, etc. etc.
Probably would be the last time ya tried that.

RE: Contacting my bike's previous owner good idea or not?
I've had calls about cars I have sold. It is no big deal and I get to tell the new owner all about my experience with the vehicle. What does it matter? It isn't yours anymore anyway. You might as well let it all out.

"despite having 39k miles"Man, that's sweet fanny adams for a 9 yr old bike.
On the other thing, yeah a call won't hurt any.

I called twice yesterday and got the answering machine both times.
I called a 3rd time and again got the answering machine so I left a message and asked for them to call back.
No return call yet.

At first the 39k miles scared me a little but the more people I talk to, the more I hear these bikes are easily capable of running trouble free for more than twice that.
