Debate continues, pretty heated comments being posted. NO WAY do I see this passing.

Of course, more meaningless numbers games.
"The Governors Highway Safety Association said 111 motorcyclists were killed in Michigan crashes in January-September 2010, a 21% increase over 92 deaths reported in the same period a year earlier."
How the hell is the above statement even worthy of mentioning when there is "ZERO" mention of how many more bikes are on the road now compared to last year? Furthermore, in this pit hole Michigan economy, how many more people are riding their bikes MORE than previous years, just so they can afford to commute?
Oh wait, we wouldn't want to tighten the accuracy of their reports now would we.....
Just more smoke that they can blow up their bias (_!_)'s !!

You seriously need me to explain?
And yes, 111 dead bikers sucks, just like 1 does. You want to eliminate such? Outlaw bikes all together, there, that should do it! Or, investigate those 111 deaths, and when you realize most were due to cagers not paying attention, or on their cell phones....then maybe they can enact some real and meaningful penalties against cagers for taking out bikers.... i guess that wonderful helmet law didn't do jack chit for those 111.

Because to them it still allows the article to reinforce this point:
"A poll of 600 likely Michigan voters in mid-March by Marketing Resources Group of Lansing found 81% of respondents said motorcyclists should be required to wear helmets."
