Fixing badges to leather vest
I have a Fox Creek leather vest (which incidentally is superb quality) and I would like to attach some HD patches. I think it will be quite difficult to sew them on as the leather's quite thick and especially as the vest has a lining. What do members think about gluing them on - what adhesives are recommended.

I had all the patches sewn on my leather vest with the wife using a sewing machine. She just used leather needles is all. There is a fabric glue that you can use too. My wife attached an HD patch to her purse using this and it looks great and has held up too.

any decent dry cleaners will do it.... also, look for your local police/fire uniform store- they do alot of patching.
OR- wait for a rally, theres ALWAYS someone there sewing

I have a Fox Creek leather vest as well (in addition to a jacket), and the last thing in the world I would do is to drill holes in it for patches, or smear glue onto it. My suggestion would be to buy an inexpensive denim vest and festoon it with your patches instead.

I have a Fox Creek vest and had a few patches sewn on at a local Shoe Repair / Alterations shop. They charged me $5 for the small (2" x 3") patches and $7 for a medium (approx. 4" x 4") patch. The lady said that my vest was the heaviest leather vest she had ever sewn patches on. Fox Creek makes a great product!!

I'm with Phillip on this one, I bought one of those italian stone leather patch type vests at a rally for FIFTEEN buck's and just sewed my patches on that. Now the patches are worth more than the vest. I also went to the local salvation army store and picked up an old levi jacket for $5, cut the sleeves off, and got another cheap vest. I would never sew patches on my regular leather's but the Levi cut-off fits right over them

It's just a leather vest, not a collecters item. Go ahead and sew the patches on and don't worry about it.
If you don't have the machine to do it, take it down to a leather repair/boot/saddel shop and have them do it. Not a big deal.

Okay, here's an odd question....what's the point of a plain black vest? It doesn't keep me warm so I might as well wear a jacket. It doesn't protect me so I might as well wear a jacket. I have one with my patches on it but I only wear it when I want to display my patches and pins. So, if I buy a top of the line vest, why wouldn't I put patches on it? Oh, and I agree with the shoe repair place suggestion. But any good alteration shop should be able to handle it.
