Actually, I think you nailed it right on the head. Especially since the Hypercharger has two obstructions in the intake path relative to a plain cover!

I had one on one of my jap bikes. Looked cool on that bike, but that's all it did. I had a k&n filter though, and really wasn't more expensive then a lot of other a/c's out there, so I guess it might be worth it if that's the look you want. I wouldn't buy one again though.

I had a Hypercharger shell on my V-star. My actual intake was two individual K&N pods that sat directly on top of the intakes. The hypercharger shell was just for looks with the vacume line hooked up so the butterflys would open and close under accell.

I thought it looked great on the V-Star but no chance of me putting it on the Street Glide.
