Default Tar and Bug Removal ?

Just did a quick trip out to Palm Springs CA to pick up a bike. 1600 miles in four days and three states. Hit bugs so big I think they were actually the state birds of New Mexico, Arizona and California. My bike looks like *****! What is the best tar and bug remover available today for my Harley's paint?

thanks!

Mineral spirits available at any paint store (not turpentine).

Warm water and a mild soap. Been around forever and works well.

If needed, I use what I use on the cars. Latest product is the bug and tar remover from Turtle Wax. There's lots of other similar products that work just as well. But as previously mentioned, most of the time soap and water do just fine. Oh, and so does an enclosed trailer...(sorry, couldn't be helped.)

Here's another little tid bit. A product called Citra-Solve will melt tar off of anything and is all natural. Use at full strength. Call health food stores to find it.

I use the 50/50 solution of peroxide and water. It works fairly well for the bugs. You still have to scrub a little but it's not too bad. As for the tar I have no clue.

Try Citra-Solve and I think you'll change your mind. Unless you prefer the smell of Diesel to oranges.

I wont slam CitriSolve or diLimonene. They have their place. Sometimes using a "like" solvent is the way to go.

I know some guys that swear by Pledge Lemon Clean. They say it cleans good and they say it's Anti-Dust formula keeps bugs (and rain) from sticking to it as bad. I don't have a shield myself (yet) but gonna try it when I get one.
