Donnie Smith Bike Show St. Paul, MN
I was there today at the River Center. A good selection of bikes and vendors and VERY well attended. I mean packed to the gills. You pretty much just shuffled around the auditorium in a pack. Why do people think it's okay to stop and BS and totally block any forward movement? It was that crowded. Still, saw some very cool machines, and ate at Porky's Drive-In on University Ave afterward. No big deal to most, but Porky's was a Mpls/St. Paul small hamburger chain in the 50s and 60s. Found out when we got home that the only surviving Porky's was probably on the way out. I remember my sister and I going there as little kids when drive-ins and burgers were a rare treat.

I was there today, great show and a great turnout. Picked up a few parts at the swap meet and drooled at that show bikes in the competition catagories.
Was really cool to sea a BUNCH of bikes on show and a lot of folks in the house itchin to get out and ride!
Go if you can tomorrow!

Gotta agree with you about the crowd. Gets pretty annoying trying to walk through narrow aisles when you keep running into groups of 6 or more people standing in the way blabbing with each other. Get to the end of the aisle and do your yakking there! People have no common courtesy for others any more. That is why I am becoming less tolerant with large crowds as time goes on. I am glad I went though, good show.

Same here, but some of the guys in the swap meet must have been dreaming with the prices they were asking. Found a few parts I needed but really had to work at it. Ran into a few people I haven't seen for a while.
I did like that drop seat Sporty from DougZ. I sat on it and it really felt well balanced with a low center of gravity.
The Pinup girls at Indian were popular. There was also a blonde in a black top with some after market bolt ons displayed nicely, she was very popular.

It was nice to see all the people. Enjoyed a lot of the show bikes. Left right before the music started so can't comment on that.
All in all...Great show.

I thought there were fewer vendors than years past and fewer bikes in the show, but maybe that's just me. J&S jacks were there after being gone for a couple of years, cost me $ for the oil pan thing. Beer was $6.75 so I waited till I got home to have a cold one. Winters are long here so the Donnie Smith show is a sign of spring and a must attend event.
