I am as we speak changing out the oem front tire for a new Metz. I have 22k on the front, probably could get another two months out of it, but I dont wait for problems.

I run dunlops on my Heritage classic. I switched back to dunlops on this bike after trying another brand. On my Wideglide I run mets. I do not like the mets and this is the second set. My next try on the Wideglide will be avons. If I like them and they hold up well I might switch the Heritage to them. Tire threads can get tedious like oil threads. Everyone has their favorites.QUOTE=BlueNoser;8097045]I have HD Dunlops I know it is usually 2-1 or 3-1 for front tires compared to back tires.
I just think I should be looking at a tire that looks completely worn out. A couple buddies have looked at it and they said 'no way" is there that many miles on it.
I will measure tread depth tomorrow.[/QUOTE]

That is decent mileage for the front.I would replace it.

The fronts on my old '06 Road Glide would last 30000 miles.

I changed out my original front tire at 59,000 miles. It had 4/32 thread with even wear. I get right at 20,000 on my rears. Keep them inflated properly and balanced and you can really extend your tire life. (Also helps to ride like an old lady)
