those with Bright *** Light, i have a question
Just bought my BAL1 off ebay. how many of you guys who own them now have changed the screws to some type of security screw so someone with a screw driver cant walk away with your light?

I got the security screws from BAL when I ordered the light. I don't know how necessary they are though, and you need to make sure you don't lose the special driver bit that comes with them or you're going to have some fun getting them off some day (not that you'll ever need to).

I got the security screws. Although I'm used to being screwed (mostly by the ex-wife), I don't often get the opportunity to get fancy screws, so I had to jump at the opportunity.
But I'm still glad I got them. Definately don't want a $200 light to walk off.

Mine is mounted with the screws that came with it. I really don't think that anyone would mess with it. Besides they would really have to know what it was, it looks pretty close to the original light.

Are those the same security screws that have the nub sticking up in the middle of a Torx? If so, nearly any bit set you buy comes with those "special" bits. I have at least three sets at work, maybe four.

Not the same - these have two tiny holes in the face of the screw, and two tiny nubs on the driver that engages them - kind of like a micro spanner wrench driver thing.... I haven't seen one elsewhere, but I'm sure they exist.

I remember Chrysler used a special screw to mount the radio back in the 80s. It had three notches in the side for a driver to make contact. We filed a nut driver to fit at work.

Same thoughts here.
