Default Leather jacket in the summer

I live in Texas. I am curious who wears a leather jacket in the summer time? Do you stay cooler or is it hotter. Curious what people wear. I am new so don't beat me up to much. I am wanting to buy a jacket for the summer riding I just don't want to buy the wrong thing. Thanks for everyones response.

Mesh is better - breathes & looser in warm weather.

Mesh is much better for warm weather. Get one with armor and you'll be set

You could get a perforated leather jacket. Not sure how cool any jacket is in the Texas summer. I wear a tee shirt in the Texas heat.

I have three jackets: heavy leather with zipper vents/removable liner, leather with removable panels which reveal mesh in the non-shoulder/elbow areas, and a mesh jacket. All are made by HD, have removable/interchangeable pads, and reflective markings. If it gets too hot, I also have a vest that you soak in water for about 5 minutes. The pockets fill with water keeping you cool until the pockets eventually evaporate--weighs a ton when you first put it on.

Depending on temps, jacket and arms have vents, or I can remove my arms off my jacket and if still too hot put jacket in my bags and ride in a t-shirt :-) Normally leave a sweat in my bags so I don't get caught out for a cold ride!

Mesh jacket with vents and armor, plus I wear a cool vest. Love that cool vest, just remember to keep extra packs in freezer and remove if in A/C.

I wear my leather 98% of the time here in Ohio. Summers are not as hot as texas, but I do not get hot at all. I do not get into much stop and go traffic either so that helps.

I've taken too many beetles and rocks to the chest/arms in my life to worry about looking cool in a t-shirt.

The leather is a fairly heavy leather w/o a zip out lining. For the cooler days I throw a hoodie on under it. Been good to go from 24 degrees up to the high 80's low 90's.
