I have the ones from Chippewa , these are the ones with the shifter patch over the toe, good looking boot, well made ( made in USA ), although they aren't very waterproof, with that big slit down the side & just a velcro flap closure, & they're not very comfy to walk in for very long, ( I've tried several different insole inserts) . For just normal riding though ,not to bad, I'm somewhat disappointed with them, sorta pricey, usually Chippewa has very good foot wear. I am looking to purchase another boot also, I'm looking at the Justin Pit-Stop, as my next pair.

Cruiserworks. Best waterproof, comfortable boots period. I just stood for four hours today in a Patriot Guard flag line in melting snow, and still came home with dry feet.

I have BMW Oxtar Gortex boots. Lightweight, waterproof, and niice to walk in. Now called TCX brand or something like that. You may or may not like styling but they are xlnt all leather Italian boots at reasonable price.

I don't know that I'd call these the "best", since that is very subjective, but I love my Xelement boots. Super light, fast on/off, tennis shoe comfortable right out of the box, stitched Vibram soles, understated styling... exactly what I was looking for. I've had them for about two months and they haven't fallen apart yet. Hard to beat for $90 IMO.

I was wearing a pair of $250 Chippewa lace up boots before the new boots arrived. While the Chippewas are of unquestionable quality, they are much heavier, a PITA to get on and off, and aren't nearly as comfortable as my "cheap" Xelement boots.

+1 on the TCX boots. There are many euro-style boots of excellent quality comparable to these. Side zip w/ Velcro flaps. Very fast on-off. Terrific non-slip soles. Get the Gore-Tex lined ones.
