Default Another stupi oil question but.......

I just changed my fluids in all three holes. Running Mobile 1 20/50 in engine and primary. Mobile Gear Oil in Trans. For about a week now I can smell the oil when the bike warms up. Almost as soon as I start it. I didn't spill on frame or pipes. When I changed them before I didn't notice the smell.
I think I'm going nuts. Runs fine and pressure is a 32 psi running down the road but I'm going nuts about the smell.
I'm waiting for the beatdown from comments........

Don't worry. It smells like fresh oil when my Ultra warms up too and it's been doing it since day 1. There's no leak, perfect oil pressure, perfect oil temperature and I don't need to add oil between oil changes.
By the way, I use Mobil1 15W-50 car oil in engine and primary and Redline w/Shockproof in the tranny.

I get that too after an oil change, but it goes away.

Thanks for your replies. At least I'm not going nuts. Maybe.

Nope you're sane. I think it comes from the breather venting into the Air Cleaner. Some escapes. I get it on mine too, but there's no leak anywhere.

Cool Mobile 1 V-twin

Cant say I have encountered the oil smell but since you used Mobile1 I thought I would say that an earlier post had stated it was on sale for $2 off a quart at Autozone. I stopped today and bought some Mobile 1 20W50 V-Twin for $2 off a quart. Not trying to start an oil discussion but thought I would pass that on to those who use the Mobile 1

Check the area under your breather - see if there is any oil dripping down. If you fill the bike 100% it'll have some blow-by out the breather. I normally keep mine right below the fill line & the oil doesn't drip from breather...

Take a can of "Brake Clean" and spray off all the areas where oil leaked or spilled when you pulled the filter. You should smell better after doing that.
