Default Fat Boy vs. Bob

Ok, wanting to purchase my first HD. Always liked the Fat Boy. Had a friend that had a Bob and I liked it. I can find a late model Bob, '09, for 11-12k but cant touch a Boy for that price unless I go back prior to 07. I've done some reading here and noticed that in 06 there was a change in both engines and transmissions. This kinda scares me, thinking I should go with the "new" stuff. Anybody got any information that would help me make my choice? Other than the obvious.. Thanks

Sounds to me as if you've answered your own question.

If price is not an issue for (but it sounds like it is), then I would definitely get the Fat Boy.

Any Dyna is better riding, handling, performing than any soft tail. The Fat Bob is a great motorcycle.

You've got to try them both on for size. To me, the Boy has "the look", so I went for it and have not regretted it. A buddy is looking at the Bob. To me the Boy was a more natural riding position but that is strictly subjective. If you flipped a coin to make a decision, you couldn't go wrong!

I love my 08 Fat Bob, chose it over a nice looking Fatboy in Myrtle Beach at Bike Week that year. I took it to Daytona last week(in my pickup), over my Street Glide. Being able to pop the windshield off to ride during the warm days and snap it back on for the chilly evenings was great. It's so much more nimble than the SG or soft tail.

Two totally different bikes, but either is a good choice. Sit on 'em, ride 'em, go with what feels right...you'll know it.

It'll be the one that leaves a grin on your face...

You haven't done much shopping, then. A brand-new 2011 Bob is only $13k. My '09 FXDC was $9k...a year ago!
