This may be off topic, but I cringe, when anyone post anything related to wikilinks. How can you rely on a site that allows you to post anything as fact, with nothing to confirm it!!! don't even go there, it's all B.S. P.S., it irks that crap outta me when I do a search for something, and wikileenks is in the results!! They should be banned from the net!!!

It's a choke on a butterfly carb that uses a plate in the intake to restrict air flow, and an enrichener on both a butterfly or constant velocity carb that uses a fuel circuit to increase fuel volume.
yeppers , I am glad to see someone that understands...
you must be as old as I am .....lol...well maybe not

There's just no substitute for somebody who's been there and flat knows what they're talking about.
My other bike has the choke. They both have kickstands.
For that matter you can say your bike has a drive shaft and air-conditioning.
However, you'll have trouble finding a replacement "choke" or "kickstand" in your Harley parts manual.
The Wiki answer is close. Early motorcycle cops felt the center stand took to long to get the bike moving to chase a car that took off so they created the "jiffy" stand so that the cops could get moving in a jiffy.
