I use Amsoil everywhere. I use the K&N oil filter. All of the mentioned oils are good. Frequency is important as you can't change the oil too much in a motorcycle.

I believe just like HD oil there has to be someone that makes comparable or better than HD filters and I would like to find that
I do the oil at 25 hundred miles give or take a few .
I enjoy it but dislike the Inflated cost of that Filter

Hey TTOMMYT, you ain't gonna get good filters for 3 bucks unless your stealing them and leaving a tip. I wouldn't put a cheap filter on my tractor much less put one on my V-Twin motor. I hate it when some insinuate that others are being cheap and that's not my intention here. To get a decent filter you will have to pay more unless you find a super deal somewhere. Educate yourself about filters before you expect the impossible. Do some searches and learn the difference then decide. I don't think anyone is holding you off on the 'deal' for filters. Mobil 1, K&N, Amsoil, and Harley filters are the only choices I would use, and yes I have to ante up. Good filters usually $10 and up. If you use good filters you don't have to change as often.

That link takes us to a filter cross referrence, no filter brand is mentioned. However, I have been at that site many times and the recommended Mobil1, Purolator Pure1, and K&N are all good filters for any engine

Tommy, try to read through this. At the bottom you will see that the AC Delco appears to be made the same as the HD filter but has more filter media. If I was to go inexspensive I'd try AC Delco. Now look up at the specs for the K&N. Better filter, more money (about $10). Read carefully about the by-pass concerning the opening pressure. If you use a filter that clogs up or doesn't have enough media it will essentially pump unfilters oil through the motor. Not selling K&N but they have much more media than harley and it is cheaoer than HD.
I think Delco may fit the bill for your criteria. Not a great filter and not a bad filter. If you change at 2500 miles you should be OK. I would suggest you run a test on your used oil at change to see what is left of you oil and what the recommendations are for continued (longer drain interval) use. If you pay for a good oil why not use it up. Just food for thought, not being critical.

I dont see what the big deal is about paying for a good quality oilfilter weather its a HD,K&N,etc-.Its not like they are changed out on a weekly basis.
