Default H-D CEO $6.4 Million

Harley-Davidson CEO Got $6.4M Pay Package in 2010

Harley-Davidson Inc. CEO Keith Wandell received compensation valued at $6.4 million in 2010, up 1 percent from 2009, when the executive spent only eight months on the job.

That's according to an Associated Press analysis of data filed with regulators Friday by the Milwaukee motorcycle manufacturer.

Stock and option awards totaling $3.02 million and a performance-based cash bonus of $2.3 million accounted for most of Wandell's compensation.

Harley reported a $146.5 million profit in 2010, compared with a $55.1 million loss in 2009.

The AP calculation aims to isolate the value that company boards place on CEOs' total compensation packages. It includes salary, bonus, incentives, perks and the estimated value of stock options and awards.

Pretty good for a guy who used to run a heating and airconditioning controls company. Betcha he's never ridden a motorcycle in his life.

I think he got screwed...if you took someones lemonade stand losing $55 DOLLARS and handed them back $146 DOLLARS and they gave you SIX DOLLARS AND FORTY CENTS and put the $140 in their pocket what would you say???

Come on be honest....you would throw it in their face.

No, not really. Maybe it's his good business sense that got them back into the black. Holding off on personally cashing-in in such an unpredictable market is probably all part of the overall plan to get the company back into good shape. His big payday may come somewhere down the line, but right now, maybe he's thinking about the thousands of employees & their families who depend on HD. Pretty smart, if you ask me.

The boss/owner of a company is supposed to make the company money so isn't that just what he's supposed to do? So if all he did was do his job then everybody should get a performance bonus if they didn't f*ck up too much stuff. More money HD has left over the more money they can spend to make it better. So if they gave him a bigger bonus then that's less money to be put into the company.

One guy makes $6.4 million dollars plus per year, and some one soon will say how the union workers are sucking all the money away from the company. What about all the other non union managers and higher ups salaries? When people complain how much something costs, that's where they should start looking, Not at the guy on the line making $15 -$25 an hour. 10 workers combined in their lifetime, won't make what the CEO make in a year. just sayin.,,,

And 10 workers, in their careers, won't have the affects on the company, good or bad, that the CEO can have in just one decision. That's why he gets paid the big bucks.

He ain't the owner. He is an employee.

The company is publicly held. It's not a private company.

Not sure any amount of labor is worth the money he earned in 8 months.
Ask they guys who 'owned' the franchises that he had closed down.

I know he's not the owner but when I said boss/owner I just meant it in general about any company.
