Downsides to the "Denim" paint?

I don't have a denim bike; but, have thought about the paint for my next one. I'm thinking it will probably rub shiny in spots, and it may knick and scratch. But, I look at that as character...just like how a fine leather jacket or a good pair of jeans will show some wear and tear...no two alike after they have been worn for a couple of months. Same with the denim paints...the character of every bike will be different in time...no two will have shiny spots in the same place and those shiny spots will probably invoke a fond memory of how it got there (i.e. that long ride you took to name your own location with the jeans blowing in the wind for hours on end occassionaly brushing the paint.)
That being said, if you want a nice shiny showroom wax job rather than a daily rider, denim is probably not the way to go. The whole point of the denim is to be different and it is supposed to show more wear than the traditional paint.

I wonder if anyone has ever rhino lined their bike?
I had a friend rhino lined the entire outside of his truck for off roading it never scratched and had that unfinished bad *** look.
*well never mind i just found a few people who have done it before. Kinda cool but would have to see in person.

Quality input if I ever saw one & probably going to cause some "flaming" responses.
I really like the denim look & my 09 FLHX would've been black denim if the local dealer had one available when I bought my 09 FLHX. I've heard/read about the paint marring & chipping easy, but my vivid black tins are equally as hard to maintain w/the scratches/swirls. Get the look you like & I'd say denim paint's same as regular - just doesn't need wax.

For awhile I considered putting it on the lids of my saddle bags since they seem to catch alot of scratches.

denim black does not show the swirl marks and fine scratches like vivid black does. and yes it supposed to wear 'like your favorite pair of jeans'. that being said, my bike is almost a year old and has over 13,000 miles and still looks perfect.
