What should you do if you lose your kickstand
#32
beginner rider here. none of my biker buddies can answer this question so major props to anyone who can. This has never happened to me but what if for some strange reason......say.....something happens to your kickstand.....and you "have to" park it somewhere? What should you do?

When I lost the stand on my bike a few years ago in Baja I'd just shut it off and walk away from it. It was always laying in the same spot when I came back. But it was an old dirt bike so you couldn't tell that it had hit ground a few more times.

What kind of bike are you ridding. It can't be a Harley cause Harleys don't have kickstands. Just curious.

'02 1200 Sporty. For some reason my kick stand bushings would wear out once or twice a year. After that first time, I kept on eye on it. Bushings are a couple bucks...Whole assembly was around $125.00.

Pull to the service bay entrance, honk horn, hen they open door pull in and tell them what happened and that you are there to get a new one. If you are in a decent shop they will make sure the bike stays up while you get a new one. When purchased hand to service writer then bend over and grab your anles while he/she puts a boot in your *** as a reminder that checking fasteners is part of servicing your bike and lubricating the kickstand is part of regular maintenance
