Once you start losing parts there ain't no stopping it. No telling what will fall off next.
I would trade it in. Just tell your wife what happened and she will understand.

Back when we were kids - just leaned bike(s) against a tree. I'd route to the nearest HD & lean it against bldg, or run into service door (if open). If not - any stable structure will do...

Once lost the spring wired stand to frame.Everytime we stopped we looked for something to lean the bike on,trees,fences,barriers anything not moveable.

Have your wife hold it up until you finish your beer. then ride it home. Have her continue to hold it until you get bag from the dealer with a new one to install. Could be 2-3 days.

Guess ya just gotta keep on riding. Call in a tanker plane to refuel every few hours. See no problem

Well.......I usually check all that s**t 'fore I get on mine(tire pressure,anything loose,etc...)
